Diabetes- There are two types of diabetes. The first is insulin dependant or juvenile diabetes. In this case, the body does not produce insulin, it is poor quality insulin, or the body does not recognize the insulin. Insulin replacement with pills or injections is the standard treatment. The second is adult onset diabetes (Type 11). It can often be controlled with supplementation and diet. The main problem with diabetes is not diabetic coma; few people die from diabetes. Rather it is the complications stemming from diabetes; deterioration of the circulatory system and clogging of blood vessels can occur all over the body. Blindness can ensue from clogging of the arteries to the eyes. Kidney failure due to artery blockage requires dialysis. Gangrene (and amputation usually of lower extremities) is due to the clogging of small arteries. Heart attacks are due to blockage of the heart (coronary) arteries. Strokes are due to blockage of the small arteries of the brain. (which usually causes paralysis on one side of body). Conventional treatment usually lowers blood sugar levels. However the underlying vascular damage is left to ravage the body. In order to prevent damage to the circulatory system it is of paramount importance to get optimum nutrient intake for the body:
