Folic Acid, B-6 (pyridoxine), and B-12 (cyanocobalamin) Homocyctiene is
a toxic by-product of protein metabolism that damages arteries and causes heart
disease.
Methionine is an amino acid derived from protein. While the body needs a moderate amount of
methionine, any excess (usually from a protein rich diet) is turned into homocystiene,
a substance that damages arteries.
Because the processing of food depletes B-vitamins, we are unable to combat the disease
process effectively without supplementation.

Folic Acid-
1.Folic Acid decreases harmful homocystiene which, in turn, decreases the risk of congestive
heart disease.
2. The lack of folic acid, increases the risk of fatal coronary heart disease.
3. The increase in homocystiene increases death rates in people with coronary artery disease.
B-6 (pyridoxine)-
1.Vit. B-6 decreases an atherosclerotic build-up in the arteries.
2.Folate and B-6 decrease coronary heart disease in women.
3. B-6 prevents myocardial infarction.
B-12
1. A nutritional program that includes B-12 can halt the progression of atherosclerosis.
2. B-12 and Folic acid reduce risk of heart disease and neural tube defects in women.
