Selenium- Natures Window National Health Alert
Landmark study stopped so that control group (participants who received sugar pill) could benefit from Selenium supplementation. Study showed that taking 200 mcg. of selenium a day reduced all cancers (except skin cancer) by 40 %. All Americans should know of this study and start supplementing Selenium immediately. There were over 110 deaths per 100,000 children in the Keshan Province of China. The soil in the Keshan Province is very low in Selenium content. After supplementation with 150 mg. of Selenium per day the rate dropped to 56 per 100,000 then to 32 per 100,000 in each succeeding year. The study was stopped and all children were given a daily supplement of Selenium. This supplement is crucial to proper health due to our Selenium deficient soil. In animals this cardiomyopathy is called white muscle disease. It has been erradicated in animals with simple addition of Selenium to the diet. In Finland the government has adopted a national policy of supplementation. It’s ironic that our government has not done the same. Selenium is a part of the enzyme Glutathione peroxidase.
